QR Codes, They Are Everywhere!

Just what is a QR code? QR is short for Quick Response. A “mark” quickly identified, and readable by those nifty little apps most of us have on our cell phone. Where do they lead you? To a website, a coupon or special, maybe a “saying of the day”, or even a video. What you may find after a scan is left to the imagination.

If you don’t have a scanner app, go to your phones App Store.  I have two QR scanners on my phone “QRScanner” and “I-nigma Reader” both were free, and both do a great job scanning.

Good news, you, can be the imagination behind where a QR code leads. Creating a QR code is easy and there are many QR Code creator sites, which allow you to create your code at no charge.  We have used goqr.me to create codes for clients as well as for ourselves. If you want a QR code tied to analytics as a tracking tool, there are sites that will give you reports for a minimal fee.

There is really no limit to what you can do with a QR code. I have seen them on posters, billboards, t-shirts, websites, as well as merchandise just to name a few. What a great social media tool; fast, easy, and FREE!

For more in depth information it’s worth checking out these two articles:

Now that you have learned so much, and have added a QR scanner to your phone, don't forget to see where our QR code takes you. Happy Scanning!
