The Chronological Wedding Planner

When we added Wedding Invitations to our repertoire a few years back, we became educated on the etiquette of the wedding timeline. Like most social events there are expectations, and typically a timeline to be followed.  When we meet with our bride and groom for the first time to discuss their plans, we provide them with their very own timeline. It goes something like this…
  • Engagement AnnouncementsMail ASAP
  • Save-the-Date cards6-9 months prior, longer for destination weddings
  • Custom Designed InvitationsStart working with designer 6 months prior
  • Non Custom Invitations (from the book)—Order 4-6 months prior
  • Monogrammed or custom favors—Order 3 months prior
  • Wedding programs, thank you cards, and other stationeryOrder with invitations
  • Address & mail invitations40-60 days prior
  • Write & mail thank you cardsSend within 2 weeks or 3 months after honeymoon
The bulk of the wedding season is quickly approaching. The save-the-date cards have been sent, invitations will soon follow and the big date will arrive. Wishing you a season of wedding bliss, and don’t forget to RSVP.
