The Adventure Center is now open. Run by Travel Lane County, established to promote tourism in the Eugene, Cascade, and Coastal Regions of Lane County. It's pretty hard to miss them. They are visible from the freeway as you approach the Beltline On Ramp at 3312 Gateway in Springfield. It was my pleasure to go to their grand opening, which was a huge success. Although all the good food and Ninkasi Ale didn't seem to hurt the turn out.
Their space is beautiful! There is a topographic map of the area, brochures loaded with information on lodging, hikes and great adventures including white water rafting, and fly fishing. They carry a broad spectrum of gifts from glasses, water bottles, to t-shirts and sweatshirts with their imprinted logo. Which, although we didn't have the pleasure of designing is gorgeous. There are also edible goodies and one of my favorites, wine. Safe to say, you could build a picnic to take on your adventure from there.
The Adventure Center is full of knowledgeable people, happy and willing to help you plan your very own adventure. Whether you live here or are just passing through it would be well worth your time to explore the Center.
