The Chronological Wedding Planner

When we added Wedding Invitations to our repertoire a few years back, we became educated on the etiquette of the wedding timeline. Like most social events there are expectations, and typically a timeline to be followed.  When we meet with our bride and groom for the first time to discuss their plans, we provide them with their very own timeline. It goes something like this…

• Engagement Announcements—Mail ASAP
• Save-the-Date cards—6-9 months prior, longer for destination weddings
• Custom Designed Invitations—Start working with designer 6 months prior
• Non Custom Invitations (from the book)—Order 4-6 months prior
• Monogrammed or custom favors—Order 3 months prior
• Wedding programs, thank you cards, and other stationery—Order with invitations
• Address & mail invitations—40-60 days prior
• Write & mail thank you cards—Send within 2 weeks or 3 months after honeymoon
