While KAP Art provided the t-shirts for the annual event & used our connection with Richardson to orchestrate the free caps, this event was more than that. The founder of the Team Cure ALS Foundation, Mike Lopez, is a college friend of Missy's husband, Lane. Mike has lived with this debilitating disease, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease, for 13 years. While he has lost the ability to speak or have any mobility on his own, he has not lost the fight to find a cure. This is just one of many fundraisers that Mike organizies throughout the year.
The golf tournament took place on June 25th at Rock Creek Country Club in Portland, Oregon. Another good friend of Mike's and mutual friend of Lane and Missy, Ann Anderson, was a big part of putting this event together. Ann's son, Peter & Missy's daughter, Laken got some great community service hours by volunteering to work at the tournament. They traveled around to the hole's selling raffle tickets for an iPad that had been donated & became the expert photographer's.
